A Time to Kill tells the story of Carl Lee Hailey, who kills two white racists after they do heinous acts to his 10-year old daughter. Carl’s friend Jake Brigance, a lawyer, agrees to try the case. But for Jake to succeed he’ll need to survive a media firestorm that surrounds this small town in the Deep South, along with an unscrupulous District Attorney and judge that has been intimidated by the white supremacist.
