Overview

One of the most unlikely friendships makes for an entertaining night on Broadway with the Tony Award-winning Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

Movie fans may already know the story of Kinky Boots from the 2005 film of the same name. But now, the quirky tale of fancy footwork and redemption has been reborn as a Broadway musical – with an infectiously winning score by pop legend Cyndi Lauper.

Kinky Boots follows Charlie Price, a young man from Northern England who takes over a struggling family shoemaking business after the death of his father. In his attempts to save the shoe factory, he discovers an unlikely hero in a drag performer named Lola. What results is an engaging, big-hearted spectacle full of dancing, singing and laughs

Why Go?

Kinky Boots marries the minds of Cyndi Lauper, Harvey Fierstein and Jerry Mitchell in a fantastic display of musical theater.

BEST KNOWN FOR:
Four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein adapted the story for the stage, while fellow Tony winner Jerry Mitchell handled direction and choreography.

The heavyweight design team behind the production includes David Rockwell (scenic), Gregg Barnes (costume), Kenneth Posner (lighting) and John Shivers (sound).
