With 35 million visitors annually, Central park is the most-visited urban park in the U.S. With so much to see, including a host of attractions, miles of paths and more, a bicycle is the easiest way to see the park in a short amount of time. Central Park Sightseeing will provide you with everything you need for your own tour of the park, including a helmet, chain lock, basket and even an illustrated map for convenience. The well-maintained bikes offer choices for men, women and children, while baby seats and children’s trailers are also available. Wear comfortable clothes and sunblock (or layer up in the winter!), and be sure to bring along your camera to capture all the sights this picturesque park has to offer!
Central Park offers three long distance bike routes to choose from, including a 6.1-mile path, but there are multiple short routes as well that cross through the park at a number of places. Traffic is prohibited in Central Park on weekends and week days from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and after 7 p.m. During traffic hours, cyclists must use the outer half of the recreation lane, but when the park is closed to cars, cyclists must stay out of that lane. Bike rentals are available in a range of hourly increments (it is estimated to take at least four hours to see the entire park), while a DayPASS (9 a.m.-7 p.m.), 24-hour pass and even weekly passes are available as well. No matter how long you decide to rent your bike, you are guaranteed to see more than you ever could on foot!
