Central Park turns into the turn of the last century Sicily in Much Ado About Nothing, one of William Shakespeare’s greatest comedies. With tickets from, help support Shakespeare in the Park and guarantee your seat for a tale that intertwines two love stories with distinctly different paths at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The show’s two main couples, Claudio and Hero, and Benedick and Beatrice, couldn’t be more different. While Claudio and Hero are love-stricken and want to be married at once, Benedick and Beatrice are too busy arguing and making fun of one another to see that they are actually in love. Through a series of events, including a plot to break up Claudio and Hero that leaves Hero at the altar alone, both couples eventually come to reunite and admit their undying love for one another.

Why Go?

Best Known For:
One of William Shakespeare’s beloved comedies

The popular Shakespeare in the Park series returns for its 52nd season with Much Ado About Nothing. Hamish Linklater and Tony Award nominee Lily Rabe add star power to the show as odd couple-turned lovers Beatrice and Benedick, while three-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien directs. This classic tale has been told over and over again since it was thought to have been written in the late 1500s, as it has been made into multiple film adaptations (the latest in 2012) and plays. However, this is one storyline that will never go out of style, and with the dynamic cast and award-winning crew, along with the majestic setting outdoors in Central Park, this is one show that can’t be missed and helps support Shakespeare in the Park.
