Calling all Broadway fans!

Broadway Con 2018 is here: From January 26 to 28, the New York Javits Center will transform into a theatrical stage as thousands stream in for BroadwayCon. The annual event takes place over the course of three days and features Tony-worthy MainStage performances, top stars, autograph sessions, limited-edition show merchandise and more.

Here are 5 reasons we’re giddy with excitement to check out BroadwayCon 2018.

In the Heights original cast reunion
After 10 years, the original cast of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, In the Heights, will reunite at BroadwayCon. Led by show creator and multi-award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, this panel brings together members of the cast and creative team at 5pm on the MainStage on January 26 to reminisce and celebrate the hip hop musical that changed the tide of Broadway in 2008.

Meet your favorite Broadway stars
The stage stars will align this month, and they want to meet you! At photograph and autograph booths, Broadway creatives will be ready to take filtered Snapchats and sign your beloved Playbills. Performers slated to appear include Anastasias Christy Altomare and Derek Klena, SpongeBob SquarePants’ Lilli Cooper, School of Rocks Alex Brightman and The Phantom of the Operas Sierra Boggess. Keep in mind, however, that all photograph and autograph sessions are offered through a lottery system before the conference begins; read here for more information on how to enter.

Sneak peek: Disney’s Frozen
Time to discover what every snow does in summer as songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez team up with Olaf himself — Greg Hildreth — at BroadwayCon’s MainStage on Friday, January 26. At 7pm, make your way to the grand hall where the legendary songwriting couple unearths how Frozen has transformed from an animated film to a soon-to-be Broadway musical.

Unite with fellow fans
As past years have shown, BroadwayCon offers the premiere platform for fans of all types of stagecraft to meet new friends who mirror a passion for The Phantom of the Opera, know all of the same lyrics to Newsies and cosplay Cats. This year, the BroadwayCon activity schedules includes a slew of designated rooms for just that — meeting fellow fans with your same love for Broadway. Sessions vary from singalongs to show meet-ups and cosplay fashion shows.

Discover what happens behind the scenes of a Broadway show
Have you ever wondered what it takes to produce a musical in New York? Or dreamt of learning the tricks of choreographing and directing but don’t know where to start? Consider booking a ticket now to BroadwayCon; this year, the conference will offer a series of career- and production-driven panels that focus on the nitty-gritty details of how a show opens on Broadway. Sample panels include “Resident and Associate Directors” at 11am on Sunday and “Dancing Through Life: The Transition from Dancer to Choreographer” at 11am on Friday.
