“(Just A) Simple Sponge,” SpongeBob SquarePants
Written by the rock band Panic! At the Disco, “(Just A) Simple Sponge” is one of the most powerful songs for the absorbent square in Broadway’s SpongeBob SquarePants. The song evokes SpongeBob’s longing to do more in life than what is expected of him by his peers and boss; truly, the inspiring tune offers the kind of driving beat and catchy melody that set the tone for a weekend of adventure and discovery at BroadwayCon.

“For Forever,” Dear Evan Hansen
Though Dear Evan Hansen first premiered on Broadway in 2016, the musical has held its own through 2018, winning the 2017 Tony Award for Best Musical. This year, expect the Dear Evan Hansen representation to be strong at BroadwayCon, with television’s Noah Galvin — Broadway’s latest Evan Hansen — joining the conference’s MainStage with the show’s Tony Award-winning book writer, Steven Levenson, to discuss the show’s impact on the theater community and beyond. Celebrate the show’s staying power by adding “For Forever,” a melodic ballad from Act One, to any conference playlist.

“The Human Heart,” Once on This Island
It comes as no question that Once on This Island has captured the hearts of many in its latest revival at the Circle in the Square Theatre; it will, no doubt, continue to inspire through its powerful themes of fighting biases, overcoming adversary and embracing true love. Start your journey into this powerful music with the song “The Human Heart,” from the musical’s first original cast recording from 1990.

“Let It Go,” Frozen
We get it. You’ve heard this song close to 100,000 times since 2013 — especially if you are a parent to an elementary schooler. But trust us, when Frozen comes to Broadway this year, you may find yourself humming “Let It Go” all over again. Get a head start by adding this beloved Disney tune to your musical repertoire for the weekend.

“Put On Your Sunday Clothes,” Hello, Dolly!
Blast this tune from the Tony Award-winning Best Revival, Hello, Dolly!, while prepping for any day of BroadwayCon — especially January 28. Though the cast album features the likes of Tony Award winners Bette Midler and David Hyde Pierce in the leading roles of Dolly Levi and Horace Vandergelder, Broadway’s latest Dolly! cast features theater legend Bernadette Peters in its title role with stage and television favorite Victor Garber taking the reigns from Hyde Pierce.

“If I Loved You,” Carousel
Get ready for this season’s newest revival, Carousel, by listening to the heart-wrenching ballad, “If I Loved You.” The duet from the original 1945 musical has etched its way into the musical lexicon for over 50 years; its soul, tone and lyrics — written and composed by Rodgers and Hammerstein — have stood the test of time, finding ways to stay relevant well into 2018.

“My Petersburg,” Anastasia
With both of its stars slated to appear at BroadwayCon, Anastasia is a “must” for your next playlist. For an added flair of drive and adventure this upcoming weekend, add Derek Klena singing “My Petersburg” to your playlist; the song of longing will no doubt pump you up just in time to watch Christy Altomare and composer Lynn Ahrens chat on the MainStage about the animation- and historically inspired musical.

“96,000,” In The Heights
Every playlist needs a solid throwback, right? Send your ears back to 2008 with “96,000” from one of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning Best Musicals, In The Heights. The poignant, pounding song transports listeners back to first hearing a Miranda masterpiece, well before the days of Hamilton and Moana. Plus, the #TBT tune will get you prepped to witness the official tenth anniversary reunion of the original cast of In The Heights, happening exclusively at BroadwayCon 2018.
