Renée Fleming, Dove Cameron Cast in ‘The Light in the Piazza’
Tony Award Winner Renée Fleming – who garnered the honor for her Broadway debut in Carousel – will star alongside Disney Channel’s Dove Cameron in The Light in the Piazza on the West End in June 2019. Cameron recently made a splash in the theater world when she was cast as the starring role of Cher in Amy Heckerling’s ‘90s jukebox musical adaptation of her hit teen film Clueless, which opens Nov. 20th at the Pershing Square Signature Center.

2019 Kids' Night on Broadway Date Set
The Broadway League will host its annual Kids’ Night on Broadway on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. The evening allows for any child under the age of 18 to enter a Broadway show for free, in conjunction with an adult who has purchased one full-priced ticket. Each ticket for this event also includes discounts to specified restaurants, educational programs, and special talk-backs. Participating shows and restaurants have yet to be announced.

3rd Annual Broadway Under the Stars Concert Lineup Announced
The free concert series, Broadway Under the Stars, is back! In its third year, this event begins at the Shops at Columbus Circle on Nov. 12. The series will continue each Monday at 5 p.m. through December 10. Cast members set to appear include those from Be More Chill, Mean Girls, Anastasia, Dear Evan Hansen, Waitress, The Prom, Wicked and many more. No ticket required!

The Book of Mormon Breaks Record at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre
On Nov. 2, The Book of Mormon became the longest-running show to play the Eugene O’Neill Theatre. Since first opening on Broadway in 2011, the irreverent comedy has played over 3,180 performances. The musical, which won nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, still plays to massive audiences eight times a week – with no signs of stopping.

Magic Mike Musical Adaptation Hosts Workshop in New York
It seems like Broadway is about to get a little bit steamier. As reported by Broadway.com, a slew of Broadway veterans recently participated in a week-long workshop of a musical adaptation of the sexy film, Magic Mike. Actors involved in the process included Derek Klena (Anastasia), Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story), Matt Doyle (A Clockwork Orange) and Ana Villafañe (On Your Feet!).

New Casting for The Phantom of the Opera Released
The Phantom of the Opera has announced that its current Christine alternate, Kaley Ann Voorhees, will take on playing the leading soprano full time with the exit of star Ali Ewoldt on November 17. Additionally, Eryn LeCroy will make her Broadway debut in the role of Christine’s alternate, with Kelsey Connolly also marking her debut as Meg Giry.
