One of the Big Apple’s most beloved attractions has just received an exciting new facelift for its entrance.

The Empire State Building has officially opened a new visitor entrance on 34th Street for the famed observatory, which offers stunning views of the New York skyline. This completely redesigned experience is a big win for visitors, with improvements in the ticketing process, visitor flow and security procedures.

Visitors are greeted with a beautifully designed lobby that mixes high-tech features with classic Art Deco design. A towering two-story model of the building and LED screens with digital ticketing stations welcome guests as they enter, and there is a will-call space for easy pick-up of tickets ordered in advance. Designed in tribute to the lobby’s designation as a historic landmark, the new entryway is part of a greater modernization project for the entire building that is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019. With more than 4 million visitors flocking to the Empire State Building every year, the renovation should reduce wait times and make the experience even better for guests.
