Cast of SpongeBob Squarepants performed on Good Morning America
To ring in the New Year on January 2, the cast of the newly opened Broadway musical, SpongeBob SquarePants, took to the screen to perform the show’s opening number, “Bikini Bottom Day,” at “Good Morning America.” The show’s ensemble joined principal cast — including The New York Times-acclaimed star, Ethan Slater — to bring a taste of life under the sea to viewers across the country. Chicago has highest-grossing week to date
After an impressive twenty-one year history, Chicago boasted its highest profiting week to date for the week ending in December 31. The revival currently starring YouTube star and Broadway veteran Todrick Hall, first opened in 1996 and continues to impress audiences from across the globe at the Ambassador Theatre. For the week, the show grossed  $1,261,237.

Bandstand’s Beth Leavel to star in Gyspy at The Muny
From July 27 through August 2, Tony Award winner Beth Leaves of Broadway’s Bandstand and Drowsy Chaperone will star as Momma Rose in Gypsy this summer for The Muny’s one hundredth season in St. Louis.

Cats revival – now only a memory
This past week, the first revival of the ethereal Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Cats, closed on Broadway after 609 performances at the Neil Simon Theatre. The revival first opened in July of 2016 but failed to gain longevity in New York.
