Overview has excellent deals on tickets for some of the best seats to experience this Greek mythology-inspired musical. After making its debut at its world premiere Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in the spring of 2017, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical enjoyed a national tour beginning last fall before earning itself a spot on the Great White Way. The production stars Chris McCarrell, who last appeared on Broadway as Marius in the 2014 revival of Les Misérables, as Percy Jackson. Act fast, though, because The Lightning Thief is only on Broadway for a limited run; it must close on Sunday, January 5. The Lightning Thief is great fun for the entire family, bringing relatable literary characters to the stage and also touching on the importance of friendship, responsibility, and fighting for what you believe in.

The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is the musical adaptation of The Lightning Thief, the first book in Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson & the Olympians series. Percy Jackson is a normal boy living with his mother and his stepfather who is ambushed while on a school field trip, when he learns that he is no normal boy. He is instead a demigod, the biological son of his human mother and the Greek god Poseidon. With this new knowledge of himself, Percy can now attend Camp Half-Blood, where he is almost immediately forced to risk his life in pursuit of Zeus’s lightning bolt after being blamed for its theft.
